Coteaux du Layon 2005, Moulin Touchais
Delicately ripe; mature, complex, semi-sweet Chenin Blanc
150 hectare estate, now run by 8th generation Jean-Marie Touchais. They produce a range of cheaper wines and also sell off much of their harvest. Just the best plots are kept for the famous ‘Moulin Touchais’.
Typically, the wines of Moulin Touchais all contain between 70 and 80 grams of residual sugar and, like many other Loire Valley sweet wines, they only really come into their own after two decades in bottle. 2005 was a sensational release of exceptionally high quality and potential longevity.
