Tasting Notes
This superb dessert wine is golden in colour, on the nose there are aromas of nuts, apricots and honey coming out. More honey on the palate with citrus and mineral flavours coming through. Perfect with lighter cake desserts or lemon tarts, it will also go wonderfully with blue cheese and Foie Gras.
The Producer
Chateau d’Avrille has been a family estate for four generations. Today, the 4th generation carries on the history of Chateau of Avrille. The vineyard is located a few kilometers from Brissac-Quince, in the heart of the Coteaux de l’Aubance and the Anjou Villages Brissac. It is composed of 200 hectares of vines planted.
Vinification
The proximity of the Aubance river means there are morning mists late in the season. This phenomenom allow the development of botrytis cinerea, the “noble rot”. The grapes are harvested manually several times. Fermentation which lasts several months is stopped when the good balance is reached.
