Tasting Notes
Buttery overtones & a lemon acidity give the wine structure & finesse. A great wine that can easily be drunk on its own or with food.
The Producer
Named after one of Chile’s most lively volcanoes and one of only a handful in the world with an active lava lake within its crater, the Villarrica range offers a choice of single varietal wines. All the wines are sourced from the Central Valley with its cooling ocean breezes.
Vinification
Grown in own vineyards in the Valle Central, on loam sandy soils, the vines are trellised using the Vertical Shoot Positioning method. The grapes are machine harvested at optimum ripeness at the end of February. The grapes are cold soaked for 8 hours. They are carefully crushed and are then fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks at 12°C – 16°C. This wine has an ageing potential of 4 years.
