Tasting Notes
Ripe peach and apricot aromas with orange peel notes, very fresh and drinkable with lovely light texture from the subtle tannins. An orange wine for white wine drinkers!
The Producer
This is a skin macerated Semillon taken from grapes grown in SA’s famous Franschoek Valley, lying in the southeast corner of Paarl. The alluvial soils and the mountains surrounding the area help to trap the cool southerly winds , lengthening the growing season and helping to produce more complex aromas in the grapes.
Vinification
The 100% semillon grapes are gently pressed, naturally fermented and macerated on the skins. The wine is then treated to twice daily punch downs and passed through a basket press. Once pressed this juice is left to settle in tank to get the sediment out before being transferred to concrete eggs and then into bottle. Â This is all about marrying the techniques of sustainable viticulture, low intervention winemaking and brilliant drinkability to give a wine that’s textured and delicious.
