Tasting Notes
Deep purple colour. Spiced notes like anis stand out on the nose, followed by aromas of red fruit. It’s a happy wine, with medium body but good texture. Very good balance between the fruit and acidity on the palate. It’s a pretty complex wine in its staying power and medium finish.
The Producer
Founded by friends Sven Bruchfield & Gonzalo Munoz in 2002 after they had both travelled widely around Europe studying winemaking, intending to establish their property. A glass of Syrah with some lamb in a café in Narbonne proved to be the inspiration for Polkura, recognised now as one of the pre-eminent producers of the variety in Chile. At 12ha Polkura is by far the largest winery in MOVI.
