Tasting Notes
The palate is still on the lighter side with generous ripe blackcurrant and mulberry flavours over toasty cedar, earth and spice nuances. Dryish finish with a sturdy tannin structure providing some grip. Aftertaste of blackcurrant, subtle liquorice, toasty cedar, earth and spice.
The Producer
A rising star. Damien, Marc Pages’s grandson, took over the running of this property some years ago. Some 40 years ago, they realised that the soil in this northerly part of the Medoc once produced excellent wines and the land had been abandoned.
Vinification
Produced with grapes from vines with an average age of 30 years, growing in Garonne and Pyrenean gravel soils. After an initial maceration period, the grapes are fermented in temperature controlled wooden vats. The wine is aged for 12 months in French Oak barrels.
