The Producer
Maison Lispaul is a small family estate located in Tracy sur Loire, in the heart of Pouilly-Fumé. The estate was founded by David Maudry and wife, Shirley, who named their domaine in honour of their children, Lison and Paul-Henri.
Vinification
From young vines outside the perimeter of Pouilly-Fume and thus not classified. These wines are straight-as-an-arrow, ‘Ronseal’ terroir sauvignons from prime clay-limestone and flint soils with ideal southerly exposure. Ageing in most cases is in steel tank, to preserve the purity of fruit and terroir character of Loire sauvignon blanc. Over the years, Lispaul has made incremental steps towards making its work in the winery more sustainable, and its work in the cellar more sensitive to preserving the terroir character of their wines; lutte raisonnée practices in the vineyard are combined with proper respect for the environment.
