Quinta do Noval Colheita 2005/2009, Quinta do Noval

The Colheita 2005 has a complex nose that combines nuttiness with
elegant fruit. It has a silky texture with a soft tannic backbone.
Some exotic flavours and caramel on the palate provide a lingering
finish. This excelent Colheita Port offers a full, sweet, rich and
smooth taste that lingers for a long time.

Quinta do Noval is widely regarded as one of the leading lights in Port and has always done things a little differently. Situated just outside Pinhão in the heart of the Douro valley, Quinta do Noval is a single estate Port shipper with a focus on quality, terroir driven Ports and wines. Acquired by AXA Millésimes in 1992, the estate undertook an extensive replanting and regeneration programme under the leadership of Christian Seely that has furthered its reputation as one of the top producers in the region.

The grapes were trodden by foot and fermented in the traditional
lagares of the Quinta, where a disciplined and intense treading is
fundamental for a good final result.
