Saumur Rouge 2019, Château Fouquet

A bright red bursting with juicy red fruits as well as some more delicate floral flavours on the palette. It features a lovely fresh herbaceous note of crunchy tomato leaf and a subtle note of pencil shavings. This is a refreshing lighter style of Cabernet Franc with fine tannins. 

Domaine Filliatreau is a large estate near the city Saumur. The owner, Paul Filliatreau modernised winemaking in the region, championing Cabernet Franc, producing vibrant wines that became very popular. He is also credited as a pioneer for organic production in the region, transitioning the vineyard to organic and biodynamic production.
