Tasting Notes

A delicate fragrance of ripe apricot and citrus fruit and on the palate it is elegant with pronounced mineral character imparted by the slate-rich soil in which the grapes are grown.

The Producer

S.A Prüm is a family-owned wine estate situated on the banks of Germany’s peaceful Mosel River, at the heart of the country’s celebrated Mosel growing region. The Prüm family has been cultivating vineyards in the middle Mosel for 860 years since 1156, and their name has become synonymous with quality wine production. S A Prüm was the original and dominant Prüm name until 1911 when the siblings went their separate ways. The only two who continue to own their own vines and make wine are S A and J J Prüm. Raimund Prüm, the owner and winemaker, has been managing the estate since 1971 and now works alongside his daughter, Saskia, who is a qualified winemaker. Under Raimund’s leadership, the property has become one of the region’s most successful wineries, with an international reputation for producing exquisite Rieslings. Raimund owns the sonnenuhr (sundial), which gives the name to the world-famous Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard, and the distinctive sundial logo of S A Prüm can be found on all continents.
