Givry Rouge 2020, Domaine Christophe Denizot

Rich, clay-heavy soils give a dark wine with ripe black-cherry and blackberry fruit, melting but quite present tannins, and a long fresh, juicy finish.

Located in the pretty village of Bissey-sous-Cruchaud, the 12-hectare Domaine des Moirots owns a 9-hectare portion of Montagny 1er cru, and makes up the rest with Givry and a several other appellations, including a delicious Crémant. Lucien Denizot made its name with well-crafted wines in the 1970s and 1980s, and was joined in 1990 by his son Christophe, now aided by his sister Muriel.
