Fornerol’s Côte de Nuits Villages is a case in point. The 2015 has an incredibly silky texture with spiced dark fruits and earthy minerality. There’s good concentration and vivacity.
Didier Fornerol was the vineyard manager and cellar master at Domaine de L’Arlot from 1982 until 1998. In 1999, he returned to his family’s domaine. Today, he has really fine-tuned the winemaking at the domaine with crucial help from L’Arlot’s legendary Jean-Pierre de Smet. Given how much we’ve loved many of the older L’Arlot, it’s no surprise that Fornerol is such an impressive discovery for us.
